Camera firmware mode (Dev / Prod)

Controls how long each camera listens for the master over ESP-NOW when the fridge restarts. Dev is faster for testing; Prod gives real users more time. The change applies on the camera's next restart.

Network requirement

⚠ The WiFi network must use the 2.4 GHz band. The ESP32 cameras do not support 5 GHz. Make sure your router exposes a 2.4 GHz network.

First setup (brand-new fridge)
  1. Power on the fridge. Plug it in. Since it has no WiFi yet, the master board automatically opens its Bluetooth for setup, and the cameras start listening for the master.
  2. Open the app or scan the QR code. On your phone, open the free « ESP BLE Provisioning » app (Android or iOS), or simply scan the QR code stuck on the fridge to jump straight to the right device.
  3. Send your WiFi. Select the fridge, choose your 2.4 GHz network and enter its password. The app pushes it to the master over Bluetooth.
  4. Done — the rest is automatic. The master shares the WiFi with every camera over ESP-NOW. Within a few minutes all cameras are online. No need to configure them one by one.
Changing the WiFi network
  1. Clear the old WiFi on the master. Restart the fridge; right after power-on, during the 3-second window, briefly press the master's reset button. The master erases the old WiFi and reopens its Bluetooth.
  2. Open the app or scan the QR code (same as first setup).
  3. Send the new WiFi. Choose the new 2.4 GHz network and its password. The master connects to it.
  4. Restart the whole fridge so the cameras pick up the new network: unplug/replug it, or use the « Restart the cameras » button on this page.
  5. Done. On restart, the cameras listen for the master (a few minutes), receive the new WiFi over ESP-NOW, and reconnect automatically.

Tip: because the cameras listen for the master at every startup, simply restarting the fridge is enough to spread a new WiFi to all of them.

Restart the cameras

Restarts every camera in the fridge (master and slaves). The slaves reboot on their next config check and relay the order to the master over ESP-NOW, so nothing loses its WiFi. It can take up to a couple of minutes for all cameras to restart.
